Homeless Services has developed a job & business training center
called "The HUB" (Hands United in Business). The HUB, dynamic
partnership between social services and business, providers employment
training and support to unemployed and underemployed homeless
individuals. It is the only program in Pinellas County using the "work
first" strategy to meet the employment needs of homeless individuals.
To make The HUB a reality, ASAP secured the former Pick-a-Deli, a
commercial property adjacent to its headquarters, and transformed it
into a 4,600 square foot community resource that now houses job and
business training, classroom and meeting space, a children's media
learning center, a computer learning center, and an onsite deli that
will provide on-the-job training while generating income for the
